Though there are 2 locations, the San Francisco location is my favorite and is truly one of the best-kept secrets of Union Square. Located deep within the heart of Macy’s Department Store (in "The Cellar") is this delightful all-you-can-eat salad/pasta/soup/dessert bar. When you’re on a very strict budget (as is most often the case in the city with the second highest cost of living in the US), Fresh Choice is one of the best choices for cheap, satisfying food in Union Square. Different from some of the other cheap eating establishments in Union Square, there aren’t as many tourists at Fresh Choice. And when you’re done, take a stroll around "The Cellar," where you’re likely to find sales on numerous novelty food and cooking items.
